Ingredients

  • turkey or chicken, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 onion
  • 4 stalks celery, with leaves
  • 5-8 carrots
  • 3-5 bay leaves
  • 1-2 cups white rice
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • broth

Preparation

Step 1

To the broth, add meat, onion, celery, carrots and bay leaves. Simmer for another 2-3 hours. Add rice. If uncooked, cook another hour or 2. Add salt and pepper to taste. If rice is cooked, add 5 minutes before serving.
