Orange and Butter Baked Chicken

  • 2 chickens (3-4 pounds each), cut up
  • 1 can (8 oz) frozen orange juice
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • garlic powder (optional)
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1) Preheat oven to 375.

2) Wash and pat dry the chicken pieces. Sprikle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, if desired, and place the chicken in a baking dish, skin side up. Melt the butter and undiluted orange juice together in a saucepan. Baste the chicken with about one 1/3 of the orange-butter mixture, and bake at 375 for a half-hour. Turn the chicken, baste the other side, and cook for an additional half hour. Return the chicken to the first side, baste with the remaining liquid, and cook an additional 15 minutes. Remove from the oven. Cool and refrigerate.
