Beefy Barbecued Onions

In large bowl, combine soup mix, ketchup, brown sugar and oil
- 1 envelope beefy mushroom soup mix or savory herbs with garlic soup mix
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 large onions (about 2 pounds), thinly sliced
- 1 extra heavy duty foil bag, regular size
