- 8 cardamom pods
- 4 4-inch cinnamon sticks, broken
- 12 whole cloves
- 1 can (about 11.5 ounces) frozen cranberry juice concentrate
- 4 cups merlot or other red wine
- 1/3 cup honey
- Cranberries and orange slices, for garnish
Balsamic Glazed Pork Chops

Heat 2 Tblsp oil in a large sauté pan on medium heat
- 4 loin pork chops, 1-inch thick
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 3 Tblsp olive oil, divided
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 1 Tblsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 Tblsp honey
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 Tblsp unsalted butter

- 1 tablespoon mixed dried herbs such as thyme, oregano, and savory, or Italian seasoning blend

- 3 packages (9 ounces each) frozen artichoke hearts, thawed and drained
- 2/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for baking dishes
