- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tbsp. onion powder
- salt and pepper
- raw vegetables of your choice, I used 2 red bell peppers and 1 red onion

Spicy Beer Shrimp

Instructions In a large skillet, heat the oil and butter until melted
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup chopped onion (roughly 1 small onion)
- 2/3 cup beer (Guinness)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce (homemade or store bought)
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro or 1 teaspoon dried cilantro
- Few pinches of cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 pound raw shrimp*, peeled, deveined, and patted dry
- Cooked rice or baked sweet potato, for serving

- 1/4 cup (1 3/4 oz.) white granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 envelope) instant yeast (Can also use active dry yeast. See *note below)

- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 4 Tbsp. (2 oz.) unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract (I used the same amount of vanilla bean paste)
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- For the lemon sugar filling:
- 1/2 cup (3 1/2 oz.) granulated sugar
- 3 Tbsp. finely grated meyer lemon zest, from 2 to 3 meyer lemons (alternately, 2 Tbsp. regular lemon zest and 1 Tbsp. orange zest)
- 4 Tbsp. (2 oz.) unsalted butter, melted
- For the lemon glaze:
- 1 cup confectioners’ (icing) sugar
- 1 Tbsp. whole milk
- 1 Tbsp. freshly squeezed meyer lemon juice
