Whole-Wheat Spaghetti with Lemon, Basil, and Salmon

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat
- 1/2 pound whole-wheat spaghetti pasta
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more for seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more for seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 (4-ounce) pieces salmon
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
- 3 tablespoons capers
- 1 lemon, zested
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach leaves
The Best French Toast

- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup, plus more for serving
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more for serving
- 8 to 10 pieces challah or brioche, sliced 1 inch thick. Brioche is best.
Blueberry and Lemon French Toast

- Butter, for greasing
- 6 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- One 16-ounce loaf challah bread, torn or cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks
- 2 1/2 cups blueberries
- Powdered sugar and maple syrup, for serving

- 2 tbsp. pure maple syrup (not pancake syrup)
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp. Kosher salt

Panera Turkey-Cranberry Flatbread Sandwich

Make the cranberry mostarda: In a small saucepan, combine the cranberries, thyme, and water
- for the flatbread sandwiches:
- 1/2 cup unsweetened dried cranberries
- 1 teaspoon packed fresh thyme leaves
- 3/4 water
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (to form a slurry)
- 1 1/2 pounds cooked, sliced turkey
- 5 oz Boursin garlic and herb cheese (not difficult to find)
- 2 to 3 oz baby kale, baby arugula, or spinach
- 3 pieces naan (I used Trader Joes plain variety), halved (or use your favorite flatbread)
Garlic Mushroom Fondue

Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped white onions
- 1/2 cup chanterelle mushrooms
- 1/2 cup sliced shiitake mushrooms
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
- 1 teaspoon ground chile de arbol or 1 fresh chile de arbol, cut into rounds
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 3/4 cup dry white wine
- 2 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 cups grated Oaxaca cheese or mozzarella
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Serving suggestions: crostini or your favorite crudites

- 2 boneless chicken breasts, cleaned and cut into “bites” (About 1 1/2 inch squares)
- 3/4 cup of flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon pepper

- SAUCE:
- 3/4 cup BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s original)
- 1/4 cup hot sauce (Frank’s Original or Texas Pete’s)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- a few sprinkles of crushed red pepper
- 1 teaspoon corn starch (mix this with a few drops of cold water before putting it in the sauce)
