I would have to say this is one of my very favorite salads

  • DRESSING:
  • 1 small head of cabbage, shredded
  • 4 green onion, sliced
  • 1 package Ramen noodles, crushed/uncooked
  • 3 Tbs sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • in a small amount of oil over medium heat
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 3 Tbs white vinegar
  • 3 Tbs sugar
  • Flavor packet from noodles

  • 2/3 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained

1. In a large pot combine bacon, onion and butter

  • 8 slices bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 stick butter or margarine
  • 6 or 7 potatoes; peeled, washed and cubed
  • Enough water to cover potatoes in pan (about 4 cups)
  • 3 chicken flavored bullion cubes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbs dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/8 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 10 oz Velveeta, cubed (I use Velveeta Light)
  • 8 oz sour cream (I use the light version)
  • 1/2 to 1 cup milk (I use 2% milk)

1. Melt the butter into the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat

  • 4 Tbs (1/2 stick) butter
  • 1 Tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup finely diced onion
  • 1/2 cup finely diced celery
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 quart half-and-half
  • 2 (14-ounce) cans chicken broth (if you enjoy a thicker soup, use 1 can)
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 cup finely shredded carrots
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 cup diced cooked chicken breast (you can use a rotisserie chicken)
  • 1 (16-ounce/500g) package ready-to-use gnocchi
