"Small-Batch Buttery Buns"

Add the ingredients to your bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups (6 3/4 ounces) all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar (I used cane sugar)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- Eggwash - 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water (optional)
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Pinto Beans in the Crockpot

Rinse dried pinto beans and allow to soak overnight in water with 6 Tbsp kosher salt (or 3 Tbsp table salt)
- 1 pound dried pinto beans
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 onion, finely chopped

- 3 cups Granny Smith apples peeled, cored and diced
- 6 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon cloves
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- caramel sauce for serving optional
- oil for frying
Crockpot Balsamic and Onion Pot Roast

Trim as much fat as you can from roast, and cut if necessary to fit into Crockpot
- 3-4 pound boneless chuck roast
- 1-2 T steak rub (I used Szeged Steak Rub.)
- black pepper to taste
- 1-2 T olive oil (depends on your pan)
- 1/4 cup water to deglaze pan
- 2-3 large onions, peeled and thickly sliced
- 1 cup beef stock, reduced to 1/2 cup (can use a can of beef broth, but be sure to reduce it)
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar (I used Fini Balsamic Vinegar)
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce (You can substitute one can diced tomatoes, drained well. I might puree the tomatoes.)

- 3/4 cup white vinegar
- 3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons salt
- 1/2 tablespoon cayenne, ground
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin, ground
