- Lemon poppy variation:
- walnut halves 1 cup plus 2 tbs = 132 g (I used pecans)
- brown sugar 3 tbs packed = 41 g
- ground cinnamon 2 tsp
- granulated sugar 2 cups = 395 g
- unsalted butter, room temp 1 cup = 227g
- large eggs 3
- sour cream 3/4 cup plus 3 tbs = 227g
- vanilla extract 1 1/2 tsp
- ap flour 2 1/3 cups = 336g
- baking soda 1/2 tsp
- sea salt 1 tsp
- Omit nut filling
- add:
- 1 tsp lemon OIL /or some fresh lemon juice & zest & a little lemon oil to boost the flaver
- 1 cup (130g) of poppy seeds
- to batter at the end of the mix
- Bake at same temp & time as sour cream coffee cake

- 4 carrots, chopped
- 1 head garlic, smashed
- 2 sprigs fresh sage
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 8 black peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
