Pork tenderloin is my favorite "other white chicken"

  • 6 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 6 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons peeled and minced fresh ginger (I used my microplane for this)
  • 5 teaspoons Asian sesame oil
  • 5 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed hot red pepper flakes
  • 1 pork tenderloin, trimmed of excess fat and any thin silver skin
  • 2 scallion (green onion), white and green parts, thinly sliced for garnish

A friend of mine turned me on to this recipe, that she adapted from the blog "Nums the Word"

  • OPTIONAL:
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
  • You can add 1/2 cup of toasted chopped pecans or walnuts for added flavor
  • You can add 1 cup of mini chocolate chips or even butterscotch chips for fun!
