Hot Cinnamon Apple Smoothie

This recipe is fall's chilly-morning answer to summer's refreshing, healthy smoothies
- Ingredients:
- 1 medium apple, cored and cut into large chunks
- 1/4 cup raisins or golden raisins
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup warm water (divided)
- 1/4 cup cottage cheese
- 2 tablespoons ground flax seed
- 8 pecan halves
“ Marry Me” Roast Beef Tenderloin

- 2 1/2 pounds beef tenderloin
- 2 extra-large beef bouillon cubes
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 /8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup red wine
- 1 tablespoon dry sherry
- 1 cup low-sodium beef or chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water

- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 TBSP butter, melted

- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Mac and Cheese Primavera

- 1 pound cellentani pasta (or other tube pasta)
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 4 cups whole milk
- 8 ounces fontina cheese, grated
- 2 cups packed baby spinach
- 2 cups sliced frozen asparagus, thawed
- 1/2 cup chopped canned artichoke hearts
- 1/2 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil, drained
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Strawberry Shortcut Cake with Basil Whipped Cream

Prepare the whipped cream: Combine the basil leaves and cream in a saucepan over medium-high heat

- 1/4 cup packed fresh basil leaves
- 1 cup heavy or whipping cream
- 3 Tbsp powdered sugar

- 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar

- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
