- 4 slices wheat bread, toasted and cubed

- 1/4 cup ketchup, plus more for the top
- 2 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 small yellow onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, for topping, optional
