- 1/2 pound ground veal
- 1/2 pound ground beef chuck
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely chopped

- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup fine dried breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

- 16 small cloves garlic, peeled
- 1/4 cup bleached all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Creole Seasoning (available in stores or make your own)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 1 amber beer (12-ounce bottle)
- 1 cup water
- 1 large loaf French bread (26 to 28 inches long)
- 6 tablespoons Creole mustard (or whole grain mustard)

- 1/2 medium onion, chopped

- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
