Burnt Dressing

This is a McGuirk family recipe that is better when made the night before
- 4-6 servings of instant mashed potatoes
- 3/4 stick butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- loaf Canadian white bread
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- salt & pepper
Peanut Butter Cookies

Mix shortening, peanut butter, sugars and eggs
- 1 cup softened shortening
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 12/ teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Asparagus Casserole

- 2 large cans of asparagus spears
- Soda crackers
- 1/2 pound grated sharp cheese
- milk
- flour
- salt & pepper
Great Grammie Morton's Dougnuts

I believe that this was my great grammie (my father's father's mother)
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons melted Crisco
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
Uncle Jon's Dip

Mix sour cream with taco seasoning
- 1 can Frito Lay bean dip
- 1 can chopped chilis
- 18 ounces of sour cream
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 3 cups shredded cheese
- 1 bunch chopped scallions
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 can black olives
Apricot Bars

Cook apricots for 10 minutes
- 1 1/2 cups dried apricots
- 2 2/3 cups flour, divided
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 cups packed brown sugar, divided
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 3 cups chopped walnuts, optional
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Chocolate Chip Cookies

In one bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shortening (Crisco)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon water
- 2 eggs
Blue Ribbon Banana Bread

- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup mashed bananas
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Creamy White Frosting
