GF Buttermilk Biscuits

- 2 cups Jules Gluten Free™ All Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp. GF baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. coarse sea salt (OR 1/2 tsp. fine sea salt + 1/2 tsp. coarse sea salt)
- 1/4 cup powdered buttermilk OR powdered dairy or non-dairy milk (Vance’s DariFree™ Non-Dairy Milk Alternative)
- 4 Tbs. butter or non-dairy alternative (Earth Balance® Buttery Sticks)
- 1/2 cup half and half OR liquid non-dairy creamer (So Delicious® Coconut Creamer)
- 1/2 tsp. apple cider vinegar (if not using powdered buttermilk)
- 1/2 cup sour cream, dairy or soy OR plain coconut yogurt (Tofutti® Better Than Sour Cream or So Delicious® Plain Coconut Yogurt)
- milk (dairy or non-dairy) to brush on tops before baking

DIRECTIONS: 1. Begin by dissolving your yeast in the warm water in your electric mixer bowl
- YOU WILL NEED:
- Makes about 12 large buns*
- Dough:
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour (I used about 4 cups)
- 1 package active dry yeast (3/4oz)
- 1/2 cup plus 1/8 cup warm water
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup (4oz) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbs granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Filling:
- 3 tbs unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 tbs ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins
- Glaze:
- 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 tbs unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 tbs milk

- 1 large microwave safe coffee mug
- 4 tablespoons gluten-free flour mix (such as Pamela’s or homemade)

- 2 Tbsp popcorn oil — we use this kind (BONUS: the orange color from the palm oil makes this popcorn look like movie theater popcorn, the kids love that!)
