Sautéed Green Beans with Garlic and Herbs

We wanted a green bean recipe that gave us tender, lightly browned, fresh-tasting beans in just one pan
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
- 3 medium garlic cloves, minced or pressed through garlic press (about 1 tablespoon)
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 pound green beans, stem ends snapped off, beans cut into 2-inch pieces
- Salt and ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions 1. Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 450 degrees
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 ounces cream cheese, cut into 1/2-inch pieces and frozen 30 minutes

- 3 cups dried pinto beans, soaked 8 hr. or overnight in cold water
- 1 medium onion, quartered
- 5 cloves garlic (3 crushed, 2 minced)
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium jalapeño, stemmed, seeded and minced
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 3 teaspoons grated lime zest
- Salt and pepper
- Queso fresco and chopped cilantro, for serving, optional

Combine all ingredients except ice cubes in a blender; puree until smooth

Simply mix all together! For finer blended chutney, blend all the ingredients in a food processor

- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole-wheat pastry flour
