  • 2 ounces shredded provolone cheese (1/2 cup)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 ounces finely shredded romano cheese (1/2 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 lemon, zest of (2 tsp)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt & freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • lemon slice, for serving (you can just use the one that was zested)

1) in a large bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds

  • 2 ) 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 5 ) 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 6 ) 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 7 ) two egg whites
  • 8 ) 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 9 ) 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 10 ) 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 11 ) if desired, add 1/3 cup unsweetened or sweetened shredded coconut to the dough
  • 12 ) you can also add a handful of shredded coconut to the cocoa sugar mixture that you roll the dough in
