- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 1 1/2 cups raisin paste or whole raisins
- 4 1/4 cups cold water
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 1/4 cups balsamic vinegar
- 5 tablespoons applesauce
- 5 tablespoons roasted garlic paste
- 1 1/2 teaspoons mustard powder (dried mustard)
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Slow Cooker Herbed Turkey Breast

Homemade Hoisan Sauce III

I made my own Hosin Sauce
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter or black bean paste
- 1 tablespoon honey or molasses or brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 20 drops chinese hot sauce, habenero or jalepeno
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Creole Fried Chicken

The recipe for this creamy pan-fried chicken was given to me by my husband's grandmother
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Creole seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 broiler/fryer chicken (3-1/2 to 4 pounds), cut up
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups water
Grilled Breakfast Sandwich

- 1-2 slice American cheese
- 2 slices bacon or 1 slice ham or 1 slice Canadian bacon or 1 sausage patty
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (half to cook egg, other half to butter bread)

- Hot sauce (optional)
- 2 slices sourdough bread or 2 slices bread, of your choice
Chicken Paprika Shepherd's Pie

This is an incredibly simple, cheap dish to make that often has great leftovers for lunch the next day
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
- 1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 jar (12 oz) home-style chicken gravy
- 2 1/4 teaspoons paprika
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups mashed potatoes (approximate)
Crockpot Baked Beans

Soak beans overnight in a large bowl
- 1 pound navy beans, about 2 1/2 cups
- 5 cups water
- 5-6 pieces of bacon, diced, or about
- 1/4 pound salt pork, sliced
- 1 cup tomato juice
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup sorghum molasses or regular molasses
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
