- 4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup soft butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Topping:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- Raisins or blanched almonds(optional)
Curried Zucchini Soup

A cup of this soup is delicate, served hot or cold
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Coarse salt
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons curry powder
- 1 1/2 pounds zucchini(about 3 medium), sliced 1 inch thick
- 1 baking potato, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted, for garnish

Soak boneless codfish for 1 to 2 days
- Boneless codfish (I used 1 pound)
- 6 potatoes (i use 4 large)
- 1 can chickpeas
- bunch of parsley, finely chopped ( I use Cilantro)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 large can black olives, drained and chopped
- 2 hard boiled eggs, chopped (i suggest 3 eggs)
- olive oil
- red wine vinegar
- I add paprika
- I add 2 tablespoons chopped garlic (from jar)
- I used freshly ground black ppper and ground salt
