- For Dusting:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup butter, at room temperature
- 4 ounces (about 1 cup) ground walnuts, almonds or hazelnuts (see blog post for more info)
- 1 package (1-1/2 teaspoons) vanilla sugar
- (see pictured instructions in post on how to make your own vanilla sugar)
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar (aka confectioner sugar)
- small pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 packet (1 1/2 teaspoons) vanilla sugar

For the dressing: Mix the lime juice, honey and ginger in a small bowl
- 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger or minced fresh ginger
- Bananas, peeled and sliced
- Blueberries
- Pineapple, cut into bite-size pieces
- Blackberries
- Raspberries
- Mango, peeled and cubed
- Strawberries, stems removed and berries cut into halves
- Kiwi, peeled, sliced, and each slice cut in half

Chocolate-Pumpkin Marble Cake (David Venable)

Preheat the oven to 325°F or as directed in the cake mix instructions
- 1 box spice cake mix
- 1 cup canned pumpkin purée
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 5 eggs
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, divided
- 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp chocolate syrup
- 1 container chocolate frosting
- 1 container orange frosting (or vanilla, dyed with orange food coloring)
- 1 bar semisweet chocolate, cut into shavings

- 1-1/2 cups whole milk
- 3/4 cup powdered milk
- 1 Tbsp . honey

- For the streusel:

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
