Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
- Topping:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 8 ounces canned diced tomatoes with juice
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 2 Tbs brown sugar
- 1 Tbs prepared mustard

A tree-shaped cake laden with snowy frosting
- For Christmas Tree Frosting:
- 12 waffle cones (2 to 2 1/2 inches wide and 4-5 inches long)
- 3/4 C unsweetened cocoa powder, preferably Dutch-process
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon coarse salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2-1 tsp maple flavoring

This is an old recipe that I made off and on for years
- 3 lb pork loin roast
- 1 lb (dry, NOT canned) pinto beans
- 2 pods garlic, chopped
- 2 Thsp chile powder
- 1 Tbsp cumin seed ground (or use powder)
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 small can long green chiles, peeled and roasted (or used canned, chopped chiles)
- 1 Tbsp salt, or to taste

- 2 teaspoons lime zest
- 1 1/2 teaspoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay™
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, or to taste
- 1 pound tilapia fillets, cut into chunks

- 1/2 cup adobo sauce from chipotle peppers
