This was a recipe of Mary Brown's which mom thought was very good
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk (our sour milk: 1 Tbsp vinegar or lemon juice in cup, fill with sweet milk)
- 1 tsp soda
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 Tbsp soft shortening
Focaccia with Tomatoes and Thyme

This is a great recipe for focaccia; howeer, there are really good foccasias available ready made in the supermarke
- 3 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour, plus extra if needed
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus extra for greasing the bowl and pizza pan
- 2 tablespoons minced thyme
- 6 plum tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
- Note: you can interchange or add herbs, e.g., basil, oregano, etc.
Angel Hair Pasta with Chicken

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in medium skillet over medium heat; add chicken
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 4 servings Boneless, Skinless, Chicken Breast Fillets
- 1 servings Carrots
- 1.25 cups Frozen Broccoli
- 10 servings Chopped Garlic Cloves In Oil
- 1.5 cups Angel Hair Pasta Delight
- 2/3 cups Rice-chicken Broth
- 1 teaspoons Basil, Dried
- 1/4 cups parmesan cheese, grated
Oven Fried Chicken (Mad Hungry)

Mix eggs, Tabasco, onion, and garlic in a large bowl
- •3 large eggs, beaten
- •3 tablespoons Tabasco sauce
- •1 medium onion, sliced 1/4 inch thick
- •2 garlic cloves, smashed and peeled
- •1 whole chicken (3 to 4 pounds), cut into 8 pieces
- •1/4 cup Wondra flour
- •1/4 cup fine yellow cornmeal
- •3/4 teaspoon coarse salt
- •1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika
- •1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- •1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil, for brushing
Jackson Hole Salad Dressing

Blend all ingredients in blender
- 1 medium avocado, peeled and diced
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp lemon juidce
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Dash Tabasco
- 1/4 tsp each Accent and garlic powder
- 1 Cup pure mayonnaise
- Salt, if desired
Beer Cake

Preheat oven to 350°. Mix well, then add 1 cup dates or raisins and 1 cup nuts
- 2 Cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup Crisco
- 1 12 oz bottle beer
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp cloves or nutmeg
- 1 cup raisins or dates
- 1 cup nuts

Oven Baked Chicken with Bisquick

- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 2/3 cup Original Bisquick® mix
- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (3 to 3 1/2 pound) cut-up whole chicken
Chopped Salad with Feta Cheese

Scatter shredded lettuce on a serving platter
- 2 heads Bibb lettuce or 1 head Boston lettuce, shredded
- 2 large carrots, cut into matchstick-size pieces
- 1 yellow and 1 red pepper, cut into matchstick-size pieces
- beets, cooked, peeled, and cut into matchstick-size pieces (optional)
- 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and coarsely chopped
- 1 ripe tomato, cut into 1/2-inch chunks
- 4 radishes, sliced paper thin
- 1 head radicchio, shredded
- 2 heads Belgian endive, sliced
- 1/4 pound feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup red-wine vinegar
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Chopped flat-leaf parsley, for garnish
- Watercress or mache leaves, for garnish
Cape Cod Salad

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F
- For the dressing:
- 8 ounces thick-cut bacon, such as Niman Ranch
- 8 ounces baby arugula
- 1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup toasted walnut halves, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 6 ounces blue cheese, such as Roquefort, crumbled
- 3 tablespoons good apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- Kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2/3 cup good olive oil
