- 10 sheets phyllo pastry (about 3/4 lb/375g) 10
- 1/2 cup unsalted melted butter, or unflavoured vegetable oil 125 ml
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs 75 ml
- 2 tbsp sugar 25 ml
Italian Egg Drop Soup

- 70 vanilla wafers, finely ground (2 1/3 cups)
- 1 ¼ sticks butter, melted and cooled
- 20 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese, at room temperature

- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tsp. each vanilla and lemon juice
