Steak: Put an oven rack in the center of the oven
- Steaks:
- Vegetable oil cooking spray
- 2 (8-ounce) filet mignon steaks

- Gravy:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 large or 4 small shallots, minced
- 2 cups (about 5 ounces) assorted mushrooms, such as cremini, shiitake and button, coarsely chopped

- 1/2 cup dry Marsala wine
- 1 1/2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary leaves
- 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
