Fudge Brownies

Delicious, classic chocolate fudge brownies complete with a healthy dose of pecans
- Brownies:
- Salt Roasted Pecans
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup Dutch process cocoa powder
Lidia's Almond Torta w/Chocolate Chips

Arrange a rack in the center of the oven, and heat to 350 degrees F
- 10 ounces butter, soft, plus more for the pan
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for the pan
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 large eggs
- Zest of one lemon, finely grated
- 1 teaspoon pure almond extract
- 2 cups almond flour or almond meal
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup sliced blanched almonds, lightly toasted
- Confectioners' sugar, for dusting
Buttermilk Pancakes with Bing Cherry Syrup

During the early summer months when cherries are in season, look for ripe, juicy Bings
- For the Bing cherry syrup:
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 1/2 cups stemmed and pitted large, ripe Bing
- cherries
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- For the pancakes:
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbs. granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 4 Tbs. (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1 to 2 Tbs. vegetable oil
Fudgy Simple Brownies

Heat oven to 350°F. Combine 1/2 cup butter and 2 squares chocolate in 2-quart saucepan

- 1/2 cup Butter
- 2 (1oz) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
- (OR 3 T dark cocoa powder and 1 T butter in place of each cho. square)
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 Eggs
- Frosting*
- 1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 (1-ounce) square unsweetened baking chocolate
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

- 1 packed cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup half-and-half
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Pinch salt

- 4 1/2 cups sliced peeled Granny Smith apple (about 1-1/2 pounds)
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 (15-ounce) package refrigerated pie dough (such as Pillsbury)

- 5 teaspoons dry yeast

- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup oil
- 4 1/4 - 5 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- oil for frying
