- 2 tbl. margarine
- 2 med. onions, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- salt, pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 14 oz. can tomatoes
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 sm. can kidney beans or
- 1 sm. can sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 c. wheat germ (optional)
- chopped jalapeno or hot sauce to taste

Boil the cauliflower florets for 2 minutes; drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Pie Filling:
- 2 large chicken thighs or 1 thigh and 1 breast
- 2 c. broccoli florets
- 2 c. cauliflower florets
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 c. mushrooms, roughly chopped
- 1 sm. onion, chopped
- low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 pkg. Knorr Garlic and Herb sauce
- 1/2 c. milk
- Pie Crust:
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. white vinegar
- 3-4 Tbsp. water

- 2 pounds sweet potatoes (cut into wedges)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- pinch of cayenne
Maple-Walnut Apple Crisp

Preheat oven to 375°. Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup regular oats
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chilled butter or stick margarine, cut into small pieces
- 3 tablespoons chopped walnuts
- 7 cups sliced peeled Rome or similar variety apple (about 3 pounds)
