- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 18 gingersnap cookies, divided

- 2 * 2 large red bell peppers
- 2 * 2 large green bell peppers
- 2 * 2 large yellow bell peppers
- 8 * 8 fresh Italian sausage links, pork or chicken

- * EVOO – Extra Virgin Olive Oil, for liberal drizzling
- * Aged balsamic vinegar, for basting
- 1/4 * 1/4 red onion, finely chopped
