CAKE - Chocolate Mayonnaise

For the cake, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa
- 2 c all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp baking cocoa
- 1 c sugar
- 1 c mayonnaise
- 1 c lukewarm water
- 1/2 c chopped walnuts
- WHIPPED CREAM FROSTING
- 3 tbsp cocoa, sifted
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1 c whipping cream
VEGETABLES - Corn Fritters

Mix all the ingredients together
- 10 oz canned kernel corn
- 10 oz canned creamed corn
- 1/2 small onion pureed in a food processor
- 2 eggs lightly beaten
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp mixed seasoning (any combination of herbs, such as basil, tarragon, and oregano)
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp baking powder
SOUP - Beef Barley by Martha Stewart

1. In a 6-quart soup pot, heat 2 teaspoons of the olive oil over medium-high heat
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 pound stew beef, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 medium-size yellow onion, coarsely chopped
- 2 medium carrots, cut into 1/4-inch coins
- 1 medium garlic clove, finely minced
- 8 cups Rich Beef Stock or low-sodium canned beef broth (2 boxes)
- 1 cup barley, rinsed
- 2 teaspoons coarsely chopped fresh thyme
- Parsley, for garnish
SAUCE - Creamy Cheese Sauce

Melt butter. Remove from heat, stir in flour and salt until it is smooth
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- Cheddar cheese to taste
FROSTING - Cinnamon Butter Icing

Cream butter. Gradually blend in icing sugar, vanilla and milk
- ¼ cup (50ml) butter/margarine
- 1 cup (250ml) icing sugar
- ¼ tsp (1ml) vanilla
- ½ tsp (2ml) cinnamon
- 2 tsp (10ml) milk
ENTREE - Lipton Onion Meat Loaf

Combine soup mix with beef
- 1 pouch Lipton Onion Soup Mix
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 c ketchup
- 1/2 c fine bread crumbs
- 3/4 warm water
SQUARES - Coconut Chews

Heat oven to 350º. Cream shortening and confectioners' sugar
- ¾ cup shortening (half butter or margarine)
- ¾ cup confectioners' sugar
- 1½ cups g=flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 tbsp flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt (optional)
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- ½ cup flaked coconut
- Orange-Lemon Icing (below)
VEGETABLES - Vegetable Dip

Mix all ingredients together till combined well
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp dried onion flakes
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp dried dill weed
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chives
SALAD - Vinegar & Oil

Shake all ingredients and pour over salad
- 3/4 cup 3 extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- salt (to taste)
- pepper (to taste)
DRINKS - Mulled Wine

To make the perfect cup of mulled wine, combine all ingredients in either a large pot or a slow cooker
- 1 c sugar
- 2 c water
- 1 tbsp cloves
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp fresh or 2 tsp ground ginger (allspice can be substituted)
- 1 peeled and sliced orange (keep peel to add zest to taste into cooking pot)
- 1 peeled and sliced lemon (keep peel to add zest to taste into cooking pot)
- 2 litres of red wine (suggestions: Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot)
