Sweet Cola Ribs

- Sweet Cola Barbecue Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 can cola
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
- 1/2 tablespoon ground mustard
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Dry Rub:
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Stuffed Meat Loaf

In a large bowl, beat eggs, milk, ketchup, salt, and pepper
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- salt and pepper
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
Tempura Sauce

Bring to a boil. Serve hot
- 1 c. water
- Dashi no moto
- 1/3 c. shoyu
- 1/3 c. mirin
Fish with Black Bean Sauce

Cut fish into 1 1/2" x 2" pieces
- 1 lb filleted white fish
- 1 tbsp rice wine
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp salty black beans, rinsed, minced
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp choppied, dried hot red pepper
- shredded green onion
Nanaimo Bars

Bottom Layer: Mix margarine, sugar, and cocoa in the top of a double boiler
- Bottom Layer:
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 3/4 cups graham wafer crumbs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup fine unsweetened coconut
- 5 tbsp cocoa
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
- 1 egg, beaten

- Filling:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 3 tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp Bird’s Eye vanilla custard powder
- few drops of yellow food colouring

- Two 3 x 5-inch rectangles usu-age tofu
- 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp sake
- 2 tsp shoyu
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 6 cups matchsticks of carrot (5 medium carrots)
- 1/2 cu toasted and ground white sesame seeds
- 2 tsp toasted sesame oil

- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 3 tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil

Shape dough around anko and steam
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups cake flour
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- few grains salt
- 5 rsp making powder
- 4 cps anko

Heat saucepan on medium and add butter, and cook until light brown
- 100 g butter
- 100 g tomato paste
- 3 tarragon sprigs
- 30 mL balsamic vinegar
- 50 mL water
- 1/2 lemon
- 10 g garlic, smashed

- 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar or molasses
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
