In a large pot, fry bacon

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 slices bacon - diced
  • 1 medium onion - diced
  • 1 small stalk celery - diced
  • 1 large potato - diced
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 - 14 oz can (398 ml) cream corn
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) kernel corn
  • 1 can (385 ml) evaporated milk (or a small can of evaporated milk with regular milk added to equal 385 ml)
  • Salt, pepper and nutmeg

  • 2 tsp oil
  • 2 cans (16 oz each) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, drained

  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tsp hot pepper sauce
