Creamed Mushrooms

Served hot on toast rounds, these make a comforting winter appetizer
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1 pkg cream cheese, cubed
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp dry sherry
- salt and pepper to taste
Crab and Artichoke Dip

Beat cream cheese until light and then mix in remaining ingredients, except green onions
- 1 pkg cream cheese
- 2 tins crab meat squeezed of its moisture
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- salt, pepper, lemon juice and hot sauce to taste
- 1 can artichoke hearts, drained well and coarsley chopped
- chopped green onions for garnish
Crabmeat-Stuffed Mushrooms

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- 12 large fresh mushrooms
- 2 tbsp sliced green onion
- 3 tbsp butter, divided
- 3 tbsp fresh bread crumbs
- 3 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 pkg frozen crabmeat, thawed, drained and flaked
Raisin Eggnog Strata with Rum Sauce

Grease 10 inch pie plate. Trim crusts from bread
- STRATA:
- 11 slices day-old raisin bread
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- SAUCE:
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup dark rum
Grandma Watson's Goulash

Brown hamburger and onions
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped small enough so your dad and brother can't see them
- 2 cans cream of celery soup
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- salt and pepper
Chicken Breastswith Mushroom Sauce

Skin and bone the chicken breasts
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk
- fine bread crumbs
- garlic powder
- paprika
- butter
- box of fresh mushrooms (small size)
- 1 can consomme
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 2 tbsp sherry (cooking sherry is fine)
- chopped parsley
Cream of Broccoli Soup

Heat 2 cups water to boiling
- 1 1/2 pounds broccoli, cut up
- 2 cups water
- 1 large stalk celery, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp margarine
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 tbsp instant chicken bouillon
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- dash of ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
Fudge

Combine all ingredients and boil for 6 minutes, stirring continuously
- 2 cups sugar
- 10 large marshmallows
- 1 small can evaporated milk
- 1 pkg chocolate or butterscotch chips
- 1/2 lb butter
- 1/2 cup nuts
- vanilla
Ambrosia Salad

This was one of Ashley's favorites when she was young
- 1 or 2 large tins of fruit cocktail
- 1 can mandarin oranges
- 1 can pineapple tidbits
- 1 can papaya/pineapple chunks together
- red or green grapes (may be cut in half)
- 1/2 bag unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1/2 bag miniature white marshmallows
- 1 container sour cream
