Thanksgiving Staple From Bon Appetit
- 1 1/2 c. fresh breadcrumbs made from crustless French bread
- 6 bacon slices, chopped
- 1/3 c. all purpose flour
- 1 large red onion thinly sliced into rounds
- 1/2 c. (or more) vegetable oil
- 10 green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 8 c. frozen corn kernels (about 2 lbs 6oz)
- 2 c. whole milk
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 3 tbsp quick-cooking grits
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 c. (packed) coarsely grated Monterey Jack cheese (about 4 oz)
Paula Deen's Hot Buttered Spiced Cider

1. Combine the cider, citrus juices and zest, cinnamon sticks and cloves in a large pot
- 1/2 gallon (8 cups) apple cider
- 1/2 fresh lemon juice, plus 1 strip zest
- 1/2 c. fresh orange juice, plus 1 strip zest3 cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- Bourbon, rye or whiskey (optional)
- Cinnamon candy sticks, for garnish (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees 2
- Muffins:
- 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour (about 6 oz)
- 1 c. regular oats
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 c. mashed ripe banana (about 2)
- 1 c. low-fat buttermilk
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 c. canned crushed pineapple in juic, drained
- 1/3 c. flaked sweetened coconut
- 3 tbsp finely chopped macadamia nuts, toasted
- Cooking spray
- Topping:
- 2 tbsp flaked sweetened coconut
- 1 tbsp finely chipped macadamia nuts
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp regular oats

- 1 orange, cut into wedges
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges

- 6 fresh oregano sprigs

- 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter - 10 tbsp cut into 1/2 inch cubes and chilled, 2 tbsp melted

Pour dressing over broccoli slaw mix
- Dressing:
- 1 bag Broccoli coleslaw
- 1 cup cashews
- 1 cup sunflower seeds
- 2 pkg beef Raman noodles
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- Mix all together
- 2 pkg of Raman noodle sauce mix
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1/2 c. vinegar
Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

In a medium mixing bowl,beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth
- 1-8oz pkg Cream Cheese, softened
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 3/4 c. powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 c. miniature sem-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 c. finely chopped pecans
Cranberry Relish

Served for Thanksgiving
- 2 cups fresh cranberries. Cook in 1 1/4 cups water until first ones burst. Add 1 cup sugar. Cook 5 minutes. Add 1 pkg red jello (like raspberry). Let cool.
- When cool add 1 cup chopped apples, 3/4 cup chopped celery, 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts) then chill.

- 3 oz cream cheese, softened, at room temperature
- 1 c. butter, softened, at room temperature
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour sifted with 1/2 tsp salt
- Red and green sugars (for toppings)

- 1/2 tsp grated lemon peel
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar, divided
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4 c. cold butter or margarine, cut up
- 1/2 c. heavy or whipping cream
