To make the piecrust: Place the dry ingredients in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade
- For piecrust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut into pieces
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cold water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- For filling:
- 1 1/4 cups light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 teaspoons dark rum (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups pecan halves
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- Whipped cream (optional)
