- 4 cups fresh strawberries, cleaned, hulled, sliced
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- Additional fresh strawberries
- toasted silvered or sliced almonds

- 1 1/3 cups boiling water
- FROSTING: 1/2 cup butter or margarine 3 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
