APPLE PIE

serve warm or cold with ice cream or cheese
- pie crust pastry, your own or a mix
- 5 cups cooking apples (such as MacIntosh), peeled, cored and cut up
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1/4 - 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- granulated sugar for topping
RIBBON SQUARES

A velvety filling on a chocolate base topped with pink icing
- BOTTOM LAYER:
- 1 CUP ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
- 3 TBSP GRANULATED SUGAR
- 1 TBSP COCOA
- 1/2 CUP BUTTER/MARGARINE, SOFTENED
- Mix all ingredients until mealy. Pack into ungreased 8x8 inch pan. Bake in 350 oven for 10 minutes.
- CHOCOLATE FILLING:
- 11 oz. sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- Heat condensed milk and chocolate chips in saucepan on medium-low, stirring often, until smooth. Pour over bottom layer. Return to oven for 15 minutes. Cool.
- CHERRY ICING:
- 1-1/2 CUPS ICING SUGAR
- 3 TBSP BUTTER/MARGARINE, SOFTENED
- 3 TBSP MARASCHINO CHERRY JUICE
- 1 X1 OZ. SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE BAKING SQUARE
GRAVY

Adapt this to any meat or poultry
- 1/4 cup fat from drippings
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 2 cups drippings without fat plus water if needed
- Gravy browner as needed
Seafood sauce

- 1/2 cup chili sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1/2 tsp horseradish
- 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
