The Directions below are the Hillbilly House Wife Directions

  • 2 cups warm tap water (not hot)
  • 1/3 cup non-fat dry milk powder (instant powdered milk)
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons sugar, (or 2T. Honey)
  • 1 packets dry yeast, (2 1/4 t. = 1 packet)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons butter or margarine or shortening, softened
  • 6 cups (approximately) white or whole wheat flour or a combination, (I like a blend of 4 cups white flour and 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour)
