In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the lime juice, vinegar, garlic, and seasonings; add chicken

- 6 garlic cloves, minced

- 1 egg

- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
- Hot Buttered Rum Sauce (recipe follows)

Asian-Style Stir-Fried Vegetables with Rice

Steam the broccoli or the snow peas just until crisp-tender, about 3 minutes
- For the glaze:
- 1 1/2 pounds broccoli, broken into florets, and stems peeled and chopped, or
- 1 1/2 pounds snow peas or sugar snap peas, ends and strings removed, or a combination
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. corn, canola, or peanut oil, as needed
- 1 Tbsp. peeled and finely minced ginger ( a 3/4- to 1-inch piece, depending on the thickness of the root)
- 1 Tbsp. peeled and finely minced garlic (2 large or 3 medium-size cloves)
- 3/4 pound mushrooms, trimmed and thickly sliced
- 1 bunch scallions, white part and some of the green, trimmed and thinly sliced, keeping the white and green parts separate
- 1/2 cup canned low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar, distilled white vinegar, or cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1 1/2 Tbsp. water
- 1 cup medium- or long-grain white or brown rice, cooked

- 4 cloves garlic, sliced, plus 4 cloves mashed (or garlic paste from a jar)
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1 Tbsp lemon zest
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 3 Tbsp olive oil

- 1 whole Egg White

- 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/4 cups White Flour
- 1/4 cups Rolled Oat
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1-1/4 cup Frozen Mixed Berries (I Used Blueberries And Raspberries), Divided
Shrimp, Avocado, and Black Bean Salad

- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp. fresh thyme leaves
- Leaves from 1/2 sprig fresh rosemary
- 4 ripe plum tomatoes, cut crosswise into 1/4-inch slices

- 1 ripe avocado, cut into 1/2-inch dice

- 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup cooked black beans
- 1 small tomatillo, husks removed and diced
