Texas Tornado Cake

CAKE: Mix regular sugar, eggs, fruit cocktail, baking soda and flour
- CAKE:
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups Gold Medal UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour bleached flour toughens baked goods
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 2 cups fruit cocktail with syrup 16-oz. can
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
- BOILED COCONUT ICING:
- 1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
- 1 cup coconut
- 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk or half and half
Thyroid Boosting Spinach Salad

Throw it all together! SERVING: Makes six (6) 1 cup servings
- Dressing:
- 5 ounces fresh spinach (half a 10 ounce bag)
- 3/4 cup chopped celery
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1 can (15 ounces) mandarin oranges - or fresh Cuties or Halos
- or 1 cup of pomegranate seeds
- 1 large Granny Smith Apple
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/3 cup pecans
- Optional: Feta cheese & Orecchiette (little ears) pasta
- 4 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- 2-4 teaspoons white sugar - Or use Honey to taste or Stevia
- 1/8 teaspoon each: paprika, onion powder
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
Apple Cider Brined Barbecued Turkey

Combine cider, salt and brown sugar in large pot
- 8 cups apple cider vinegar 2 L
- 1 cup kosher salt 250 mL
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar 125 mL
- 6 cloves garlic
- 12 lb 1 fresh turkey 5.5 kg
- 1/4 cup olive oil 60 mL
- 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh thyme 30 mL
- 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh rosemary 30 mL
- 2 tsp black pepper 10 mL

- 1/2 cup 1% low-fat milk
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 4 large eggs 2 large egg whites (or 5 large eggs)

- 3 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

- 1 1/4 cup brown rice flour
- 1/2 cup potato starch
- 1/4 cup tapioca starch

- 1/4 c maple syrup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar

- 2 Cups Sabra Hummus
- 1 Cup Cilantro Pesto
- 1 Cup Mini Sweet Peppers, chopped
- 1 Cup English Cucumbers, chopped
- 3/4 Cup Grape Tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 Cup Feta Cheese
- 1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
- Black olives chopped would be so good!
- Fresh Cilantro for Garnish

- 1/8 – 1/4 teaspoons of Cayenne Pepper
- 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire Sauce
- 4 tablespoons of Beef Broth
- 2 (or more) tablespoons of Water
