- 1/4 cup (50 mL) butter
- 3 cups (750 mL) chopped onion
- 6 cups (1.5 L) chopped pumpkin or butternut squash
- 2 cups (500 mL) peeled and chopped Spy apples
- 1 tsp (5 mL) brown sugar
- Pinch ground cinnamon
- Pinch ground allspice
- Tiny pinch cayenne
- 1 tsp (5 mL) salt
- 5 cups (1.25 L) water or vegetable stock
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- Garnish
- 2 tbsp (25 mL) roasted black walnuts
- Fresh sage leaves

- 3 eggs
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) whipping cream (35 %)
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) liquid honey

Salmon with Warm Black Bean and Corn Salad-Lime and Honey Glazed

Preheat a medium skillet over medium heat with 2 tablespoons of the olive oil (twice around the pan)
- 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (divided use)
- 1 medium red onion, chopped
- 2 large garlic cloves, chopped
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin (1/3 palmful)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Juice of 2 limes
- 3 tablespoons honey (3 gobs)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (1/3 palmful)
- 4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
- 1 red bell pepper, cored, seeded, and chopped
- 1 (10-ounce) box frozen corn kernels, defrosted
- 1/2 cup chicken stock or broth
- 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 2 to 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
- 6 cups baby spinach

- Oil Stain: Pour mineral spirits over the stain and gradually sprinke portland cement while scubbing the area with a brush.Continue to add cement until the mixture is dry enough to sweep up. Repeat the operation if necessary.
- Rust Stain:Dissolve 4 ounces of oxalic acid powder in a quart of hot water and apply this to rust stains.Allow 2 to 3 hours for this to react, then flush with fresh water.
