Pasta with Asparagus

- 1/2 pound mostaccioli or elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
- 2 to 3 dashes hot pepper sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 1 pound fresh asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cookie Dough Ice Cream

Scald milk until bubbles form around edge
- 2 cups milk
- 1 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 4 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup chocolate chip cookie dough
- 2 cups light cream
Blueberry Scones Dough

In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar; mix thoroughly
- 2 cups unbleached flour, plus more for rolling berries
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut in chunks
- 3/4 cup buttermilk or cream
- 1 egg
- 1 pint fresh blueberries
Cinnamon Raisin Bread

1) In small saucepan, heat milk until bubbles form around edge of pan; remove from heat
- Fill and topping:
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup unseasoned mashed potato
- 1/2 cup very warm water (110 to 115F)
- 2 pkg active dry yeast
- 7 1/2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups raisins
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter or regular margarine, melted
- Granulated sugar
Cranberry-Tomato Chutney

This chutney may be prepared two weeks ahead, covered and refrigerated
- 1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 (16-ounce) can tomatoes in juice, drained
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger (see tip)
- 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 garlic clove, minced
Russian Tea

Mix together and store. 2 tsp per 1 cup boiling water
- 1 pkg wylers lemonade
- 2 cup tang
- 1 cup instant tea
- 2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp cloves
Orange Julius

Place all ingredients in blender and mix together until it is the consistency of a shake
- 1 small can (6 oz) frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1 cup milk or 1/3 cup powdered milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 5-6 ice cubes
- Options: 1 cup of fresh berries can be substituted for the orange juice
Summer Berry Cobbler

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
- 1 pint blueberries
- 1 pint raspberries
- 1 pint blackberries
- 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced in half
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar, plus more, for dusting
- Pinch cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1 recipe Blueberry Scone Dough, see recipe
- Melted butter
- Note: Used 3 pints blackberries instead of 1 blueberry, raspberry, blackberry and 2/3 cup sugar
White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

1) Cream together butter, sugars and egg
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine (1/4 pound)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon brandy
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 cup dried cranberries
Baked Squash

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Note:
- 5 pounds medium-yellow squash
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups bread crumbs (see note)
- 4 ounces (1 stick) butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup sugar
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- Dash of freshly ground black pepper
- Best if made with Black-Eyed Pea's whole wheat rolls - about 3 needed - plus more for topping
