Recipe: Ukrainian Rustic Village Bread - Domashnij Khlib

This recipe starts with a starter you keep overnight
- STARTER:
- 1 cup lukewarm water (I used bottled spring water)
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- Small pinch citric acid or ascorbic acid (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon Rapid-Rise instant yeast or bread machine yeast
- 1 1/4 cups bread flour
- 2 Tablespoons whole wheat flour
- 2 Tablespoons rye flour
- DOUGH:
- The starter above
- 1 cup lukewarm water (I used bottled spring water)
- 3/4 teaspoon Rapid-Rise instant yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 Tablespoon white granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon packed brown sugar
- 4 About 4 cups bread flour - divided (I used 3 1/2 cups bread flour total)
Creamy Ceaser Dressing

Put first 6 ingredients into blender
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons anchovy paste
- dash pepper
- 1 cup cooking oil
Ginger-Sesame Vinaigrette

Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk until smooth
- 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup yellow miso
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. minced fresh ginger
- 2 Tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 tsp. canola oil
- 2 tsp. dark sesame oil
Crock Pot Honey-Garlic Chicken

Arrange chicken thighs on the bottom of your slow cooker; set aside
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/2 cup ketchup (you can also use low-sodium ketchup, if available)
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- 1/2 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Vegan Pot Pie

Using a small stock pot, heat oil and sauté onion and celery until translucent
- 1.5 T olive oil
- 2 cups diced onion
- 1 cup celery
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 4 T organic all-purpose flour
- 1 ea. 10oz bag organic frozen peas and carrots
- 2 cups “chicken” chicken stock or strong vegetable broth
- 2 cups diced “Gardien” chicken scallopini
- 1 package Pillsbury pie crust
- Melted vegan butter as needed
Sesame-Mango Chicken Salad-to-Go

Spoon dressing into 3-cup resealable container; top with remaining ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. Kraft Asian Sesame Dressing
- 1 cup choppediceberg lettuce
- 1 carrot, shredded
- 1/4 cup choppedred peppers
- 60 g sliced delichicken, cut into strips
- 1/4 cup choppedmangos
- 1 Tbsp. choppedpeanuts
Jalapeño Popper Dip

Preheat oven to 350. Combine all of the ingredients into a medium bowl
- Topping:
- 6-8 slices of bacon, diced and cooked crispy
- 2 8-oz packages of cream cheese, soft
- 1 cup of mayonnaise
- 4-6 jalapeno's, chopped and deseeded. The seeds will make it fiery hot.
- 1 cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup diced green onion
- 1 cup of crushed crackers ( I used Ritz)
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/2 stick of butter, melted
Rice/Orzo Pilaf

Melt the butter in a lidded skillet over medium-low heat
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup orzo pasta
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 cups chicken broth

- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 Tablespoons coarsely grated onion (squeeze out the liquid)
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (approx) or half oil and half butter
- 1 cup sour cream (optional)
Aromatherapy Cleanser

This gentle cleanser refreshes oily skin
- 1/4 cup distilled witch hazel
- 1/4 vegetable glycerin
- 1/4 cup aloe vera gel
- 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 5 drops grapefruit essential oil
- 2 drops lemon essential oil
