- 1 small onion chopped (one cup)
- 1 cup chopped carrots (or More)
- 1 cup chopped celery (or more)
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 can (28 oz) crunched tomato
- 2 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce (I use 1 28 ounce can or 2 if I use more meat)
- 1 can (15 ounces beef broth (3 or 4 cups)
- (1can 15 ounces red kidney beans, 1 can 15 ounces white kidney beans, with or without liquid)
- If no beans, add 1 chipped green pepper along with other veggies
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 8 ounces ditalini pasta, precooked weight-I use more if using more of the above
