Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes

  • Sift together and set aside:
  • Heat and melt
  • 6 ounce pkg. chocolate morsels
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 1/4 cups sifted flour

  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • Combine in a bowl until blended
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs: add one at a time and beat-blend in chocolate mixture. Stir in flour alternately with 1 cup of water. Pour into 2 well greased 9" layer pans.

  • 6 ounce pkg. chocolate morsels, 3 tbls. butter..heat and melt over water. Remove from heat and add
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Mix until well blended. Gradually beat in 3 cups of confectioner sugar.
  • yields 1 3/4 cups.
