- 5 small onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cans (14 ounces) low sodium beef broth (recommended: Swanson's)
- 2 cans (10 ounces) beef consomme (recommended: Campbell's)
- 1 packet onion soup mix (recommended: Lipton's)
- 8 slices French bread, about 1 inch thick
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere
Crab Cake Burgers Recipe | Eating Well

These burgers have a true crab flavor that isn't masked by fillers or strong seasoning
- 1 pound crabmeat
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs, (see Note)
- 1/4 cup light mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons minced chives
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 4 dashes hot sauce, such as
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons unsalted butter
Coffee Cake Recipe

Bake: 1 hour 350F 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup firmly packed light-brown sugar
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch salt
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut up
- Cake:
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar plus enough milk to equal 1 cup
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2/3 cup firmly packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons confectioners' sugar
Blue Cheese Sauce

Mix all ingredients together
- 1/3 cup nonfat plain yogurt
- 3 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese, (1 ounce)
- 1/2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- This rich sauce is excellent on burgers and sandwiches, such as Pecan & Mushroom Burgers and Grilled Portobello
Easter Bread Pinza

Combine the raisins with the rum in a small bowl and toss to mix
- 1 1/2 cups golden raisins
- 1/2 cup dark rum
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar plus 2 tablespoons
- Four 3/5-ounce cakes fresh yeast, crumbled
- (1/3 cup), or four 1-ounce packages instant dry yeast
- 9 cups unbleached all-purpose flour, or as needed, sifted
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature
- 6 large egg yolks, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature, plus more for the bowl of dough
- 1/2 cup Vin Santo, Verduzzo, or other sweet white wine
- Grated zest (yellow part only, without the underlying white pith) of 2 large lemons
- Grated zest (orange part only, without the white pith) of 1 orange
- 11/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons water
