- 1 chopped onion
- 2 cloves of garlic,minced
- 4 tablespoons of oil
- hot pepper flakes
- 1 can of Pastene "kitchen ready" tomatoes (not chunky)
- 1 - 2 jars of mushrooms
Preparation time 20mins
Cooking time 40mins
Drain and rinse mushrooms. Bring a pan of water to a boil. While boiling, pour in mushrooms. Boil for 10 minutes, drain and rinse again. Set aside.
Heat oil in skillet. Add onion, garlic and red pepper flakes. Saute until onions are soft. Do not brown garlic. Add tomatoes and simmer until bubbly. Add mushrooms and cook for 10 - 15 minutes.
Option: fry ground sausage and add to tomatoes while simmering. Serve over pasta.
