Sausage Meatballs in Spicy Currant Sauce

Ingredients
- CURRANT SAUCE:
- 1 cup currant jelly
- 1 cup mango chutney
- 4 Tbsp lemon sauce
- MEATBALLS:
- 1/3 lb sweet sausage
- 3/4 lb ground beef
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground coriander
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup minced onions

Preparation
Step 1
Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well with your hands. Roll into one inch meatballs and place on a jelly roll cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 15mins.
Drain and mix with the currant sauce.
Place the meatballs in a round bread after hollowing out the bread (removing the top and insides).
Replenish the meatballs as needed to keep them warm, with toothpicks available for serving.
NOTE: Reheat the meatballs in a large saucepan on top of stove at a simmer so that it frees up your oven for other hors d'oeuvres.
meatballs and sauce can be frozen for 3 months in a tupperware container. Be sure to let them cool down all the way before freezing or they will freezer burn.
