Ingredients

  • 3 3/4 (12 oz) uncooked reg/multigrain rotini pasta
  • 3/4 c lean sausage
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 jar (25.5 oz) pasta sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 pkg (6 oz) pepperoni, sliced
  • 1 bag (8 oz) reduced fat Italian cheese blend

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a pot cook pasta as directed on package (don't add salt). Drain and return to pot.

2. Meanwhile, in 12 inch nonstick skillet, crumble sausage. Cook over medium heat 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink, drain if necessary.

3. Add tomato sauce, heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered 3-4 minutes or until slightly thickened. Stir in pasta sauce and basil. Heat to just boiling.

4. Add sausage mixture, pepperoni and 1 1/2 c cheese to pasta in pot; stir well until just mixed.

5. Spread in greased 9x13 baking dish with foil, sprayed side down.

6. Bake 30 minutes or until bubbly and thoroughly heated. Remove foil, sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered 5-10 minutes longer.
