Classic Green Monster

Quick, easy, healthy and delicious green monster smoothly packed full of protein with Kale, almond butter and chia seeds, is a perfect way to start the day or when you need a healthy snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond milk or other non-dairy milk
- 1 cup destemmed kale leaves or baby spinach
- 1 ripe banana, peeled and frozen
- 2 to 3 ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon pure chia seeds or ground flaxseed
- 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- Protein powder, optional

Step 1
In a high-speed blender, combine all of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Serve immediately and enjoy a burst of energy any time of the day!
Tips: It's easy to make a double batch and refrigerate the leftovers in a jar for the next day. Or, prepare the smoothie at night and store it in the fridge for the next morning. Sometimes I do this if time is tight in the morning or if I have sleeping houseguests around. No one likes to be woken up by a Vitamix, my cat included.
