Werther’s original cookie caramel apples

Ingredients
- 60 pieces Werthers original chewy caramels
- 6 popsicle sticks
- 6 medium apples
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4.5 oz chocolate wafer cookies, finely chopped

Step 1
Wash and dry apples. Insert one popsicle stick in the core of each apple. Heat caramels, water and butter in large heavy sauce pan over low heat, stirring very often until caramels are melted and smooth. Dip apples into melted caramels, spooning caramel mixture over apples to coat. Roll in cookie crumbs, pressing gently into caramel. Place on waxed paper lined baking sheets; let stand for 25 minutes or until caramel sets.
