- STREUSEL TOPPING
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 TBSP butter, melted
- MUFFINS
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/4 cups unsweetened applesauce
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup honey

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 F. Grease muffin tin.
Mix the streusel ingredients together until small clumps form; set aside. Whisk together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, salt and baking powder; set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the applesauce, egg and honey until completely emulsified. Pour the dry ingredients until completely emulsified. Pour the dry ingredients into wet and mix just until incorporated. Pour the batter into prepared muffin cups, filling about 3/4 full. Sprinkle streusel topping over the raw batter, as thickly as desired. Bake for 15 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
